10 Worst Shiny Pokemon

Acquiring shiny Pokémon is one of the best feats you can do after you’ve completed the main story.

Players all over the world are always looking for methods to get glitters as fast as possible.

And for good reason, shiny Pokémon look awesome and show off your proficiency as a Pokémon trainer.

However, some glosses offer little, if any, difference compared to the base skin.

In general, all gloss is preferable to base skin. But if you’re looking to start hunting shiny, or just want to know which of your shiny you should value the least, check out this list!

10. Glalia

Sporting a lighter, darker shell and… red eyes. They are the only differences between a shiny Glalie and a normal Glalie.

Of course, with such a lack of features, there’s little Nintendo can do to really animate a brilliant version of Glalie. But with what they did, it’s worth mentioning on this list.

9. Landoro

Brighter orange fur, as well as a darker brown color on the tail. The slightest change in color is not enough to make this shiny skin something special.

They could have at least done something with the cloud but no.

8. Alola Ninetales

Alolan Ninetales is a cool remake of the original Ninetales, but the shiny variant leaves a lot to be desired.

Replacing the base light blue color scheme with a slightly purple tint, the base variant looks much better.

7. Jigglypuff

Very slightly lighter pink and green eyes, instead of blue. Creativity went overboard when designing the brilliant Jigglypuff. With its evolution sporting the same differences, this entry deserves its place on the list.

6. Frost

Keeping the light white color of the original Frostoth, this Ice/Bug type is a shiny new addition to the Pokémon universe.

Including a pattern on the wings is a nice touch, but for such a powerful and incredible Pokémon, you’d expect more.

5. Zapdos

When you think of Legendary Pokémon, you expect impressive looks and creativity. You get that with the Zapdos base skin, but the shiny variant makes it a little more yellow.

It doesn’t make sense, you’d be much better off going for a shiny Moltres or Articuno.

4. Tyrannize

In order to be such a powerful and popular Pokemon, you’ll want Tyranitar to have a brilliant and striking sight. Instead, you get a more brown and purple variant.

There was a lot of room for improvement, a jet black skin color with a red belly would have been amazing.

3. Buzz

Like all ultrabeasts, Buzzwole has too much to do, with no real direction other than “muscle bug”. At least the base skin has a semi-decent color scheme, the shiny variant is just plain ugly.

Blinding anyone who lays their eyes on him, stay far away.

2. Gengar

Gengar is another very popular Pokemon, with many players impressed by the previous evolution’s brilliant form. So you get fully evolved Gengar, it’s ridiculously disappointing.

Sporting a dark blue, instead of purple. Just a difference. At least the Mega Form has an awesome shiny variant, with a completely white appearance for a big difference.

1. Shedinja

Base Shedinja has a lighter belly and darker skin tone. So acquiring a shiny one is purely to make it shine once you go into battle, that’s all.

For a Pokémon so niche that it has no real place on any team, competitive or not, it has to be the worst and most useless shiny in Pokémon history!
