Many monuments already exist in Rust, many of them are interesting to explore and loot.
There are different places for different levels of survivor, the radiation system is a brilliant way to prevent newbies from accessing high priority areas.
When you start out in Rust, you find it difficult to get going and get some juicy loot.
However, if you know the monuments, it is not difficult to fill their loot boxes.
This list will take a look at the best monuments in Rust, depending on what they offer the player in both loot and usable services!

10. Mining Outpost
Utilities: recycler & repair bench

Considered by many to be the ideal starting point when joining a server for the first time, Mining Outposts provide low-tier loot and access to a recycler. As well as no radiation at all.
Containing no keycards or high-level boxes, many groups or high-level players avoid this monument. It just isn’t worth the time, to them.
Plenty of windows, as well as access to the roof, give you plenty of opportunity to defend yourself if you’re caught.
During the night, you can sneak up on enemy players and ambush them for their loot!
9. Satellite dish

Providing little accessible loot, the Satellite Dish is arguably the best place to get blue cards.
The few loot boxes that do spawn are easy to find, but make you vulnerable to fire from many angles.
To find the blue card, you need a fuse and green card. Find the 2 metal shacks, insert the fuse, turn on the switch, use the green card on the green door lock.
Low radiation is found here, so at least burlap clothing is needed.
8. The dome

The Dome is a dangerous place to visit, requiring a decent aptitude in parkour to get to the top. There you will find 4 military boxes.
Along the way, you will also find several normal boxes.
For low grade fuel, the Dome is exceptional. Multiple Barrels of oil spawns under the Dome, with an oil refinery located in a nearby shack.
There is no radiation found under the dome, but a great deal of protection is needed when it enters.
7. Sewer branch

At the top of the pipe in the middle of the Sewer Branch, you can get between 0-3 military crates and 3-5 normal crates.
Getting there is no easy task, with tough parkour challenges to overcome. Not to mention, you’re exposed to enemy players while you’re doing it.
Where the real loot lies is the green room puzzle, which grants you access to multiple crates of different varieties, as well as a blue key card.
6. Airfield
Utilities: Recycler, Oil Refinery, Research Table and Repair Bench

It is recommended to build near the airfield due to the enormous size of this monument. You can easily run around for quick loot before escaping without running into anyone.
Military boxes can be found in the office building, hangars, and underground.
You will need a blue and green key card to access the underground, there you can find the elusive Red card.
5. Military tunnels

Currently the only way to acquire elite crates without a keycard.
However, Military Tunnels requires you to defeat the scientists. Make no mistake, they can surprise you.
One guards the entrance to the bridge. 2 more are found in the first section, after entering. You will have to defeat at least 6 more to access the elite boxes.
If you have fuses and access cards handy, you can try the puzzle. Inside the red room, you will find a considerable amount of extra military and elite boxes.
A high level of radiation means you need a lot of protection.
Due to all the shooting, other players will be alerted to your presence in the tunnels, so keep an eye out for the counters!
4. Abandoned supermarket

Abandoned supermarkets are great for quick and ready loot. You will have a constant supply of loot and food/water.
There’s only one door on the recycler, so it’s easy for other players to camp it. Quite a problem on high population servers since this monument ends up having many players visiting it.
3. Train yard
Utilities: Recycler, Repair Bench, extractor pump & Oil refinery

With a ton of loot, the Train Yard is an amazing monument that I highly recommend building nearby.
With a green and blue puzzle, you can get a red card, as well as up to 10 military boxes per run.
Many medical boxes and ration boxes are also found, recharging your health and food/water.
Lots of high spots allow you to survey the area before entering. There is a tunnel system located below if you need to hide or escape a firefight.
As long as you have a path leading to it, you can start off by hitting barrels, looting the entire train yard, and walk out with over 400 scrap metal. Every time!
2. Oil platform

One of the most challenging monuments to hit, but one that offers incredible rewards.
Does not require radiation protection or fuses. Instead, a boat is needed to reach the base of the oil rig.
After that, you will fight 16 oil rig scientists. They hit hard but also drop a lot of ammunition and medicine.
Then simply use the blue and red cards to access the locked box. That’s when the fun begins.
A Chinook will drop up to 10 heavy scientists, and these guys have 300 HP, armed with M249 machine guns or the SPAS-12 shotgun.
You will certainly have players fighting back, so watch out for approaching ships. Use long range weapons to shoot them before they reach you.

Boasting a myriad of tightly packed crates and boxes, this monument should be the goal of any Rust player.
Because the recycler is in a small room, defending it with a shotgun is an easy job.
The Oxum gas station is the best monument in Rust. Access to loot from almost every level, vehicle parts, food, and a recycler. Easy to defend, create ambushes or escape.
