Top 10 Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield

I’ll go ahead and assume that almost everyone who comes here is at least a Pokemon fan, otherwise why look at a list of Pokemon? Well for those fans we are making a list of the top 10 popular Pokémon for the new generation of Pokémon games; Pokémon Sword and Shield! I myself have been playing Shield while my friend has Sword so we can trade exclusives. Not to mention the popular ones we keep seeing people ask for. So let’s go over that list!

10. Gyarados

Starting with us is an old favorite, the Heinous Pokémon; Gyarados! Even if this Pokemon isn’t at the top of the list, it doesn’t make this classic any less popular. Even though it lacks its Mega Evolution techniques, it’s still a highly desirable Pokémon to add to a trainer’s roster.

9. Ponyta de Galar

Next up is the newly designed and very “cute” Galarian Form Ponyta! Now a Psychic-type, it seems a lot of Sword players have been asking Shield players to trade them since it’s one of the Pokemon Shield exclusives. So if you’re from Shield, be sure to help out your fellow trainers!

8. Centiskorch

This ferocious Pokémon is definitely a personal favorite, Centiskorch is not only a Fire-type but also a Bug-type! Having another Fire Bug to choose from is always a plus! Its design is sleek and when it’s Dynamaxed it moves like one of those wingless eastern dragons, so if you like that like I do, then I’d go after this Pokémon!

7. Galarian Weezing

Next up is another old one brought back with a redesign and an interesting new look, the Galarian form of Weezing! This guy’s popularity skyrocketed pretty quickly after his release, due to his long-chimney hat look and gassy moustache; causing people to call him “Monopoly Guy Weezing”. Other than that though, he’s now a Fairy-type with a very useful ability, Neutralizing Gas! Make sure to catch it and check it out!

6. Cinderella

At number 6 is one of the Final Evolution starter Pokemon, Cinderace, now let’s be honest here. Who doesn’t want a walking fire bunny that uses flaming rocks like soccer balls? Really! That’s one of the biggest reasons I keep seeing people with Cinderace. That and his fighting techniques are quite useful.

5. Darmanitan of Galar

Coming to the halfway point is the newly crafted and refitted Galarian Form Darmanitan! Originally it was only a Fire type, now with its Zen Mode ability it can go from being a Fire type to an Ice type as well. This has definitely made Darmanitan a highly sought after Pokemon this generation!

4. Gigantamax Machamp

Bringing us the first Gigantamax Pokemon on this list is the Fighting-type, Superpower Pokemon; Machamp! Now, with a new way when you Gigantamax, this Pokémon has become a very useful powerhouse; given that you have the correct settings, of course! This Pokemon has also always been one of my personal favorites and I highly recommend getting it.

3. Dragapult

Third on our list today is one of the newer pseudo-legendary Pokémon, the Ghost Dragon-type Dragapult! This type seems to be one of the most popular pseudo-legendary types for its good base stats and useful battle techniques.

2.Gigantamax Charizard

Second is the new Gigantamax Charizard, just like the G-Max Machamp it also has a whole new look when Gigantamaxed. Making it another one of my favorites and aesthetically pleasing with the flaming look it has which makes its popularity skyrocket.

1. Zacian

Coming in at number one is Pokemon Sword’s new legendary exclusive, Zacian! Long story short, Zacian’s popularity is partly due to Sword’s sales being so much higher than Shield’s and because it seems like a lot of people tend to lean towards the attack type. That said, his offensive moves are better than Zamazenta; which is mainly defensive. So, you are definitely in luck with Zacian.
