Top 10 Pokémon TCG Draw Cards

In the Pokémon TCG, draw power is extremely important. Finding yourself without Energy cards or basic Pokémon is a quick way to lose the game. Because of this, many players recommend a good number of draw cards, as well as search cards. However, there are so many in the game that it can be difficult to choose which ones to put in your deck.

I’ll go over the top 10 Pokémon TCG draw cards. All of these options will be great for almost any deck, some are trainer cards while others are full-fledged Pokémon. However, those Pokemon don’t require a certain type of energy to use their draw power, so they can be teched up in any deck!

10. Cynthia

For a good reboot, Cynthia offers a lot of value. Sometimes you are unlucky and get a bad hand. Returning cards to your deck is fine if you have the draw/search power to get them all back. Cynthia can also be used when your hand has run out of cards, to draw up to 6 cards.

9. Copycat

Very situational, but in the right situations, Copycat can provide more drawing power than any other card in the game!

Lots of players include tons of draw/seek power, so if you’re up against someone who has amassed a 15-card hand, you can draw that much. Capable of turning a losing game into a fair one, Copycat is definitely worth including against heavy decks.

8. Oranguru

Your hand will never go empty with Oranguru in your bank. If you’ve already used a bunch of draw cards, you’ll find your hand is pretty stacked, which is where this card is useless. For decks that go quickly through your hand, using items and extra energy production, Oranguru is awesome!

7. Alola Sand Bar

While it may take 2 turns to set up (to set up Sandshrew and then evolve it), Alolan Sandslash provides a steady source of pulling power throughout the game. Multiple copies in the bank is crazy, your hand will stay recharged indefinitely.

However, sacrificing so many places in the deck to include this and its pre-evolution can be daunting, so only include it if your core is fairly low.

6. Octillery

Pretty much an upgraded Oranguru, Octillery provides the same draw ability, just provides 2 more cards. It’s not a basic Pokemon, so it’ll take a few turns to set up, but few cards fill your hand like Octillery does.

Considered a staple by the Pokémon TCG community, every player should own a few copies of this card!

5. Bill Maintenance

No matter your deck strategies or draw/search power, you will always end up with at least 1 card that you can’t use at the moment. Shuffling it back into your deck in exchange for 3 new cards is very beneficial, as it brings a +2 advantage to the table. Other cards provide more base draw power, but Bill’s Maintenance’s recycle link makes it a good candidate for spots in the deck!

4. Zoroark-GX

Another evolution Pokémon, one that is similar to the previous entry, but only provides a +1 advantage. However, you can use it every turn, sending cards to the discard pile to draw 2 new ones.

Some Pokemon are awesome with this effect, like Darkrai-GX. Including a bunch of recovery cards is a good way to ensure that the discard part isn’t a problem either!

3. lily

Stealing Lillie on your first hand is pretty much a guaranteed win. Only one other card can provide a higher degree of draw power. Even then, drawing up to 6 cards can be amazing. Used by players of all skill levels, Lillie is a must-have for any Pokémon TCG deck.

2. Professor Sycamore

I know this card might seem too situational, since you never want to fold a hand full of cards you need, but that draw power is incredible. If you have fewer than 3 cards in your hand, for example, drawing 7 gives a huge bonus to your winning efforts.

Also, many strategies contain cards that don’t mind being in the discard pile, either because of their own abilities or because of the recycling power of the strategy.

1. Has

No other card provides such reliable drawing power income. However, Hau isn’t the only “Draw 3” card, the others are viewer, Cheren & Tender. That gives you a maximum of 16 chances to draw 3 cards in a single deck!

However you want to mix things up, other inputs may allow you to draw more cards depending on the situation. However, for untouched pulling power, these are the best!
