Minecraft: 10 Best Food Items

In the early days of survival mode in Minecraft, food was only there to restore health.

There was no hunger level of any kind, which made it a huge request from the Minecraft community.

In the 2011 adventure updatehunger was added, as well as a few other things.

Since then, farming has become a staple of any survival world.

Even if you spend a lot of time dedicated to crop production, it can be difficult to gain a real understanding of your resources. Long adventures are particularly hard, running out of food is a nightmare.

Are you focusing your efforts on the best foods?

You may just be focused on how much food level your item restores, rather than considering the saturation level which is just as important!

Do you understand the difference between feed level and saturation?

This is important. If you’re having trouble keeping your food bar full, overcrowding is likely to blame.

Saturation is a hidden value, eating more saturated foods will deplete your hunger level more slowly.

Eating a variety of foods in a specific order can further increase efficiency.

I’ll go over all of this in every post!

10. Bread

Food: 5

Saturation: 6

requiring 3 wheat To craft, bread is a staple of most early games, as wheat seeds are commonly found by breaking grass.

While bread should be made whenever you have wheat to spare, providing good nourishment and saturation levels, your wheat is much better used for other purposes.

Wheat is best used to raise cows, heal horses, and create hay bales.

It can take between 20 minutes and 2 hours (real life time) for a wheat crop to fully grow, then it will produce 1 wheat.

So you’ll need a large farm to get bread doughs, and that’s something that takes time to create and manage.

In general, there are better food options available.

9. golden apple

Golden Apple, one of the best foods in Minecraft

Food: 4

Saturation: 9.6

As you adventure, explore caves, and take on mobs, the Golden Apple is one of the best foods you can get.

Although it doesn’t restore hunger as much, at measly 2-food levels, the effectiveness comes in different ways. Instead, it will heal up to 2 hearts in a few seconds, as well as providing 2 levels of absorb.

To craft a golden apple, you will need to circle a Apple with 8 Gold bullion.

Alternatively, you can find this item in chests in places like strengths, igloo, underwater ruins, dungeons, desert temples, mine shafts Y forest mansions!

More uses come in the form of healing zombie villagers. If you hit them with a potion of weakness, you can use a golden apple to turn them into a normal villager.

Also useful for horse breeding.

8. Suspicious Dandelion/Blue Orchid Stew

Suspicious stew, one of the best foods in Minecraft

Food: 6

Saturation: 7.2 (+ bonus saturation from Dandelion or Blue Orchid)

mushroom broth is another great food, readily available as mushrooms are quite common in caves and biomes. However, you can add any flower to the Mushroom Stew Craft Recipe, to make a fishy stew. add a Dandelion or Blue Orchid adds extra saturation, keeping you full longer. you can see the full list on wiki.

7. Cooked cod

Food: 5

Saturation: 6

Providing some decent food stats, Cod are relatively easy to get your hands on en masse through fishing or fish traps.

if you are close to Ocean blocks, you can build around 4 or more pieces of water, and below, to have a lot of fish spawn inside. Simply kill them every few days in the game to cook a ton of fish!

6. Cooked Chicken

Food: 6

Saturation: 7.2

Chickens are a very common and easy to breed mob of animals that provide meat, eggs, and feathers.

Requiring only seeds to spawn, each player must have a bunch of chickens.

While cooked chicken is a decent food, the number of chickens you need to slaughter is a hassle and not worth it, compared to other meats and foods you can get.

Also, you have to deal with the constant clucking which, of all the animal mobs, is the most annoying. Plus they run away every time you enter their pen.

5. Cooked Lamb

Cooked lamb, one of the best foods in Minecraft

Food: 6

Saturation: 9.6

Sheep drop 1-2 raw lamb chops, making this one of the most common foods you can stock up on. Sheep, found in most biomes, are easy to find and breed. Every survival game needs a space dedicated to keeping animals.

A little tip if you didn’t already know, if a sheep is burned to death, it will throw cooked lamb instead!

4. Steak

Steak, one of the best foods in Minecraft

Food: 8

Saturation: 12.8

Finding herds of cows is not uncommon, they will provide a great source of meat and other useful items. Capable of falling between 1-3 raw beef when dying, or steak (cooked beef) if they are burned to death. You can also feed the wolves steak if needed, to make them mate or grow faster.

Filling 4 food levels on its own is pretty impressive, especially combined with the high saturation level.

3. Cooked Pork Chop

Cooked porkchop, one of the best foods in Minecraft

Food: 8

Saturation: 12.8

Completely identical to the previous entry in terms of stats, Cooked Pork Chops are another good food. I put it higher because it’s a bit more efficient to obtain, requiring carrots to raise pigs, rather than wheat (which is a useful item in itself) for cows.

2. Cooked Salmon

Cooked salmon, one of the best foods in Minecraft

Food: 6

Saturation: 9.6

Make yourself a fishing rod and head into some water for 20 minutes, you’ll get a decent supply of fish. Salmon is the best overall, filling 3 hunger levels and providing a decent saturation. There’s a 25% chance you’ll find salmon while fishing, which is a relaxing exercise you can do to take a break from cave exploring!

1. Baked potato

Food: 5

Saturation: 6

Once you’ve acquired your first potato, you’ll be fine to eat for the rest of your game. Zombies and their respective variants have a 0.83% chance to drop a potato.

Your best bet is to visit townssince the chests in the house have a high chance of containing multiple potatoes. shipwrecks Y looting posts they also have a decent chance of containing them.

So why are potatoes so good?

Food/saturation levels aren’t the best, but once you plant a potato it will produce 2-5 more in an hour (in real time).

Other uses of the potato are for raising pigs or trading with the awesome village farmers for emeralds.

No other food is as easy to obtain as Baked Potatoes, you can acquire stack after stack with just a few hours of play!
