Minecraft: Top 10 Enchantments

incantations in Minecraft they were a great addition, providing players with more end-game content and adding a ton of functionality to other features.

Right now, the “default” game state you’re in when you enter a new world is way below the cap.

You need easier ways to acquire resources, you need better equipment, and you need better ways to acquire all of those things.

Enchantments are the answer!

For every aspect of survival in Minecraft, there is an enchantment. Whether you want to be a miner, fighter, or sea explorer, you need to know which enchantments to choose!

10. Aquatic Affinity

Increases mining speed underwater. Aqua Affinity is a boon to anyone who enjoys marine life.

Underwater block mining can be difficult at times as you need to catch your breath or fend off mobs in the sea. Especially when trying to find buried treasure.

Aqua Affinity will make any adventure at sea much more bearable. There’s a ton of awesome loot to be found in the ocean, including ones needed to make a Lighthouse.

Of course, since it’s almost useless outside of the ocean, you won’t want to try it until you have the big blue sea in your sights.

9. Loyalty

Loyalty forces any Trident to return to you, after being thrown.

With Tridents being one of the best weapons in Minecraft, they are hard to find and enchant.

It’s worth it though, as each cast deals a significant amount of damage to any mob.

8. Lure

Fishing is a boring, but underrated way to get items in Minecraft.

Raw fish provides excellent food when cooked. Blowfish are used to water breathing potions and you can even find enchanted books, saddlesY name tags.

Such a method of acquiring loot is a welcome change of pace, at times.

Lure is required on any fishing rod as it will drastically reduce the time it takes for a fish to bite. Waiting more than 60 seconds to get a screenshot is simply not worth it.

7. Aspect of fire

Setting fire to any mob hit by your attack, the Fire Aspect is a must have for any Minecraft survival gamer.

Not just because of the damage it deals over time, Fire Aspect immediately cook any meat that mobs drop.

Since ovens and campfires are so readily available, it’s not the most innovative enchantment in the world.

However, saving chunks of time/resources here and there will provide more time/resources for your other needs.

6. Unbreakable

There is nothing worse than being in a cave network, knowing that your tools will break at any moment.

Unbreakable will greatly increase the durability of your tools, weapons, or armor. The default durability stats are pretty low, even on diamond teams.

Repair is a constant hassle and requires a considerable amount of resources.

If you really don’t care about the default durability levels, feel free to add a different enchantment. But it’s always nice to have a reliable set of enchanted Unbreaking gear.

5. Plunder

Looting will increase any loot received from slain mobs, including animals.

Every piece of loot, including zombie/skeleton gear (on higher difficulties) has a higher chance to drop!

So if you need brewing materials, ropes, bones, arrows, etc, add Plunder to one of your swords.

In general, you can never have too much loot. Getting even level 1 loot on a weapon is a sure way to fill up your chests.

4. Silk Touch

Any block destroyed by an item with Silk Touch will drop the original block.

So if you mine stone with a Silk Touch pickaxe, it will drop the stone block, instead of a cobblestone block.

Some notable examples are:

It’s just another enchantment that makes your life a lot easier.

We recommend having a “main” pickaxe for mining things that don’t require Silk Touch, as well as a pickaxe with this enchantment.

3. infinity

Infinity gives you unlimited ammo for your bow, as long as you have at least 1 arrow in your inventory.

Arrows are surprisingly hard to come by, compared to how quickly they can be used. Flint, Sticks, and Feathers require a ton of farming to get.

Going to Infinity is a much easier option and will be perfect for boss fights as well as traveling through the Nether.

Ghasts are a huge pain in the Nether, so having a constant stream of arrows at your disposal is invaluable.

2. Repair

Placing the Repair enchantment on every tool, weapon, and armor piece can save a ton of time and resources.

The easiest way to get a Repair book is to find a librarian Who can change one for you?

You can destroy the Librarian’s job block, Lecternand place it again to reset the shares they buy/sell.

Do this over and over, until you have an easy supply of repair books.

1. Fortune

Extracting large amounts of minerals can take a long time. Even with a good spike, big projects can take a while to fund.

With fortune, you don’t have to worry about that. You can easily purchase stack after stack of Coal, lapis lazuli & Red stone. Diamonds are particularly good with fortune, as you can receive up to 4 diamonds per ore with a Fortune 3 enchantment.

No other enchantment has as much of an effect on your game as Fortune, making it the best enchantment in the game.
