Top 10 Minecraft Arrows

Playing Minecraft Survival, there are many ways to interact with the world around you. One of the biggest threats you face are mobs, enemies that will try to take your life and get rid of your loot.

Using a bow is one of the most effective ways to deal with mobs safely, but there are many variants of arrows available. If you’re looking to up your game, pointed arrows provide a nice boost to your combat prowess.

Spiked Arrows are created by surrounding a relevant potion with arrows, on a crafting table. You can enchant up to 8 arrows per potion.

10. Arrow of Decay (Bedrock Edition)

Available only in console variants, you need a Lingering Potion of Decay to craft these arrows. Once this is done, you will become a force in PvP, applying the Wither effect to any target hit!

Possibly the best arrow in the game, the fact that it’s attached to the Bedrock edition means I can’t rank it too high.

9. Fire resistance arrow

Used as a support tool, this arrow will provide resistance to fire damage for a short time. Hitting an ally will deal damage like a normal arrow, before applying the fire resistance effect, so don’t use it on low HP allies!

8. Regeneration Arrow

Support-based combat styles are a totally viable experience in Minecraft, regeneration arrows will deal damage upon hitting their target, but will also allow you to regenerate a ton of health.

It’s also decent to shoot up into the sky and wait for it to land on you, for a nice boost. Converting 1 potion to 8 regeneration chances can be very beneficial.

7. Arrow

The normal arrow. Cheap, easy to get, and consistent with its damage output. Finding a skeleton mob generator can be the gold jewel of any survival game. Set up a quick farm, sit down with a sword and you’ll get loads of arrows in a short amount of time.

6. Healing Arrow

Hitting a target will replenish health depending on the potion that was used.

Just be aware that the healing may be minimal depending on the strength of the shot. A fully charged arrow shot can deal more damage than the enchantment heals. Stay close to allies or fire a slightly charged upward shot for a near-instant health recharge.

5. Spectral Arrow (Java Edition)

One of the more unique arrows, it will apply the glowing effect to the target, allowing you to see it through walls.

Viable mainly in PvP, it will provide a huge advantage as you can optimally position yourself based on enemy movement. However, it’s only available in the Java edition, which sucks.

4. Damage Arrow

Dealing additional bonus damage on contact, damage arrows are exceptional against players and most mobs. A fully charged arrow will deal decent damage on its own, you can shoot 1 time at most mobs, and 2-3 arrows will knock a player down.

Unfortunately, damage arrows will actually heal undead mobs. This is where you need to be careful, but always consider this arrow if you are specifically hunting certain mobs or fighting players.

3. Arrow of weakness

Inflicting weakness on an opponent can really turn the tide of battle, especially on higher difficulties. By reducing the attack damage of the affected target, you will give yourself a breathing space to avoid certain death.

It’s also good as a support tool, as a heavily armored ally can easily clear multiple enemies with low attack damage.

2. Poison Arrow

Bosses, undead, and spiders are immune to poison. However, players are very vulnerable, in fact it is one of the best tools you have at your disposal.

The poison will not directly kill an enemy, it will only reduce them to half a heart of health. So you need to finish them off if you can get to them!

1. Slow Arrow

Slowing movement speed is a criminal understatement, basically no combat situation is improved in your favor by slowing down an enemy. Zombie hordes are particularly prone to overwhelming you, as are skeletons and pesky vines.

Players are also vulnerable, landing a slow arrow can allow you to finish the job!
