Top 10 Weapons in Minecraft Dungeons

Weapons are extremely important in Minecraft Dungeons. You’ll often find yourself clearing maps as fast as possible, to acquire that sweet loot and become as strong as possible.

Keeping the best weapons in mind can make your adventures much easier, allowing you to quickly fill your inventory and find more secrets.

These are just the types of weapons you should be looking for. Specific weapons, such as unique ones, can be found in a different list.

For now, you’ll want to keep an eye out for these weapons as you progress through the power levels. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, using them in the right situations is key to success in this game.

10. Whip

locations: dirty jungle & overgrown temple

Exclusive Jungle DLC

Hitting hard at long range, the whip is an exclusive item that isn’t really considered one of the best options. If you roleplay or play for fun, feel free to do so. Otherwise, other weapons offer more in specific situations.

Most effective against tight corridors of enemies and checkpoints, the whip should never be used to attack enemies when surrounded, due to its thin hitbox.

9. Double Ax

locations:

Available only on Apocalypse difficulty, the Double Ax is a hard-hitting 360-degree hitbox weapon. Hitting all the enemies around you is invaluable at times, it also makes beating levels a breeze.

Since it’s available so late in the game, I want to focus more on other weapons to get more ranks.

Keep in mind though that the double ax is an extremely capable weapon and possibly the best one for taking on groups of mobs.

8.Claymore

locations: obsidian pinnacle

Extremely slow pushing attacks but hitting like a truck, Claymores are definitely a niche option. Great fun, though, few things are as enjoyable as that third kick sound/animation.

The low mow range means it can demolish some nearby mobs, but it’s not the best when you’re completely surrounded.

7. Great Hammer

locations: burning forgeObsidian Pinnacle (Adv/Apoc Difficulties) and Underhalls

Decent damage per hit, but low attack speed and area damage. All of this combines to make a pretty decent weapon that is overlooked compared to other variants. However, the unique variant is particularly impressive!

6. mace

locations: High block halls & lower halls

Hitting 3 times before launching a fatal blow attack, the mace requires a bit more skill to use compared to other weapons. This is because the first 2 attacks are slides, so you have to time and aim correctly.

5. Bow

locations: Walkthrough. Found in every level after that.

Perfect for shooting those pesky redstone golems, ranged enemies, and bosses. Bows have incredible single target damage, requiring shots to be charged up for full effectiveness.

Enchantments allow for decent multi-target damage, but if that’s your thing, look to the other ranged weapon, further down this list.

However, for single-target ranged firepower, the bow will be your go-to!

4. sword

locations: Walkthrough. Found in every level after that.

Nice and reliable swords like minecraft dungeons assault rifles, giving a great full list of stats. Capable in all situations, surpassing none.

If you find one with the right enchantments for your build, don’t pass it up as it will definitely serve you well!

3. Daggers

locations: soggy swamp, soggy cave & red stone mines

Daggers are my personal preference. Get movement-based enchantments/artifacts and leeches/frenzy on the daggers themselves. If you find yourself in a group of mobs, simply hold down the attack button and watch your attack speed melt everything around you.

Daggers are also great for taking down bosses quickly and have some of the highest single target DPS in the entire game!

2. Glaive

locations: Soggy Swamp & desert temple

To constantly mow down groups of mobs from range, look no further than the glaive. Longer range than other melee weapons means you can attack from relative safety, high damage ensures hard-hitting attacks.

Of course, glaives come with a slow attack speed for balance reasons. Also not recommended against bosses as the single target damage isn’t as great as other entries on the list!

1. crossbow

locations: All levels. Increased drop rate in Redstone Mines.

On all but the lowest difficulties, each level is filled with tons of mobs. Going through them with melee weapons or ordinary bows can take time. Crossbows, on the other hand, with the right enchantments, can demolish dozens of mobs per shot.

To get through levels quickly, take out spawned mobs, or just have fun, you won’t find a better weapon than the crossbow!
